This launch video was created to introduce Paisley Alive, Scotland’s first-ever music, fitness, and wellness festival, set to debut in 2026. As the event is still in its pre-launch phase, the video serves as both an imaginative teaser and a call to action for the community. Featuring Scott McFarlane—the festival’s founder—running through the streets and landmarks of Paisley, the piece captures the vision behind the festival: movement, energy, and connection. It aims to build excitement and establish a recognizable tone and identity for a festival that, at the time of filming, existed only as an idea.
To achieve this, we took a cinematic approach that draws heavily from festival aftermovies rather than traditional promo content. We shot with a slow shutter speed to add motion blur and energy to running sequences, and layered in dynamic editing techniques—rapid cuts, rhythmic pacing, and environmental sound design—to evoke the atmosphere of a vibrant, high-tempo event. Since there was no archive or real footage to lean on, we leaned into stylized visuals, conceptual framing, and emotive movement to suggest what Paisley Alive will feel like, rather than merely explain what it is. This approach helped turn abstract ideas into something viewers could emotionally connect with.
